Psychiatric Evaluation and Assessment

The psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment conducted by a mental health professional, such as a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse practitioner, psychologist, or licensed clinical social worker, to diagnose and understand an individual's mental health condition. The evaluation typically involves the following, a 1-2 hour interview, mental status exam, psychological testing, assessment of medical history and current medical concerns, obtaining collateral information, diagnosis and treatment planning.

Medication Management

Individualized medication management plans developed and monitored by the psychiatric nurse practitioner to optimize treatment outcomes and minimize side effects for patients with psychiatric disorders.

Psychotherapy and Group Therapy

Evidence-based psychotherapy services provided by licensed therapists and a psychiatric nurse practitioner to address a variety of mental health concerns, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based therapy, and supportive therapy.

Crisis Intervention

Immediate support and intervention services provided by the psychiatric nurse practitioner to address acute psychiatric crises, including suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviors, and severe mood disturbances.

Telepsychiatry Services

Virtual psychiatric consultations and follow-up appointments conducted via secure video conferencing technology, allowing individuals to access mental health services from the comfort of their own homes.

Psychiatric Consultation and Collaboration

Consultative services provided by the psychiatric nurse practitioner to primary care providers, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to assist the provider in the management of their patient's complex psychiatric disorders and treatment planning.

Psychopharmacology Education

Patient education and counseling provided by the psychiatric nurse practitioner to promote medication adherence, educate patients and families about the benefits and potential side effects of psychiatric medications, and facilitate informed decision-making regarding treatment options.

Holistic Wellness Approaches

Integration of complementary and alternative therapies, such as mindfulness meditation, yoga, nutrition counseling, and exercise programs, to support overall mental health and well-being.

Genetic Testing

Genetic testing in psychiatry, often referred to as pharmacogenomics or psychiatric genetic testing, is used by psychiatric providers to tailor treatments based on an individual's genetic profile. This approach can help predict how a person might respond to certain psychiatric medications, thereby enhancing the efficacy and safety of treatments. He

Medication Assisted Treatment

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) involves the use of medications in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies to treat substance use disorders.
